Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

The aim of ACT is to help people to have rich and fulfilling lives whilst handling the pain and distress that life brings. This involves exploring what your values are and what difficult thoughts and/or feelings show up which get in the way of living by those values. ACT involves discussing and practicing strategies to encourage these thoughts and feelings to have less of an impact upon you, as well as alternative behaviours which move you closer to your values.
